If you are allergic to oil or latex paint fumes or are prone to headaches, adding Young Living oils to your paint may be the solution. Besides the nice smell, you will feel the energy of the oils in each room.

When I had my office/ bathroom/ healing rooms painted in April of this year, I left clear instructions with my painter as to what essential oil to use in what paint can for what room. He said it made his work much more enjoyable (and healthy) of course.

The Essential Oils Desk Reference suggests that you add one teaspoon of oil to one gallon of paint.

Here are some suggestions:

Interior

Harmony in the dining room

Joy or Lavender in the living room

Peace & Calming in the bedrooms

White Angelica with a drop of Purification on the ceiling

Abundance in the office

Envision in son’s bedroom

Thieves in the bathrooms

Purification in the kitchen

Exterior

Purification

Only a small amount is needed. You do not have to be “greasy” to be protected. And a quick rinse before you enter the pool will not wash the oil off your skin.

Other Young Living Products to protect you from the harmful effects of chlorine:

ICP powder or Balance Complete supplement may also be helpful. Both absorb many times their weight in toxins.

Thyromin protects the thyroid from harmful contaminants such as chlorine. Thyromin also increases energy and balances the endocrine system. I like to take one capsule at bedtime or upon rising before and after the days of swimming.

Happy swimming!

L. angustfolia burn healing and pain relieving effects are legendary. In fact, lavender oil was a mainstay for aromatherapy pioneers Drs. Gattefosseé, Marchand and Valnet.

Don’t be fooled by imitations!

Oil commonly labeled as ‘lavender’ is really lavandin (lavandula x latifolia) an essential oil that is not suited for burns because of its high camphor content. Lavandin can also increase the formation of scar tissue rather than reduce it.

So before applying lavender oil to a burn, take time to make sure that you are using authentic Lavandula angustifolia. (Also known as L. officinalis or L. vera)

Check the list of ingredients on the bottle. sometimes oils labeled “lavender” actually contain lavandin or a mixture of lavandin and L. angustifolia.

Smell the oil. Lavendin has a stronger, more lavender like smell than true L. angustifolia.

Put a drop on a paper towel and let it evaporate. If the spot looks wet or greasy after a couple of hours, it is probably a mixture of vegetable oil and essential oil. the vegetable oil will aggravate the burn because it will lock in the heat.

Know your supplier. Will the supplier provide you with a chemical analysis on request?

LavaDerm contains cold processed whole leaf aloe vera extract, essential oil and floral water of Lavandula angustifolia. It cools and refreshes dry, chapped, stressed, burned or tender skin.
